I was born in Catania (Italy) in 1966 and I attended my medical studies in Catania (School of Medicine, 1985 through 1991) and in Ancona (Residency in Thoracic Surgery, 1992 through 1997).

Since 1997 I am specialist in Thoracic Surgery and, hopefully, in the current year I’ll get my second residency in General Surgery.

Since 2001 I’m a staff surgeon of the Division of Thoracic Surgery, Ospedali Riuniti di Ancona, Ancona, Italy, which is the only specialized centre of Thoracic Surgery in the Marche region.

Since 2008 I'm member of European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS).

I’m interested on all the oncological and non-oncological surgical diseases of chest, chest wall, pleura, lungs and mediastinum and traumatic injuries of the chest. But my main interest is focused on minimally-invasive surgery and especially on Uniportal VATS, that I perform since June 2005 every time with more passion.

Over the surgical procedures I strongly believe in preoperative cardio-respiratory evaluation, standardization of perioperative processes and postoperative pain control.

Finally, I think good medicine begins with a good doctor-patient relationship.
